The duck billed sturgeon is widely distributed in large rivers and nearby bay coasts in the central and northern regions of the United States. The fish feeds on planktonic animals throughout its life. The duck billed sturgeon is a warm blooded fish with advantages such as fast growth, wide feed sources, low production costs, easy fishing, and high economic value. The juvenile duck billed sturgeon has a unique shape and can be used as a precious ornamental fish. The duck billed sturgeon eggs are processed into caviar.
